We are proud to share our newest program, We Play! Unique Tutoring for Unique Learners! An individualized, inclusive, language-arts based tutoring program for school age learners with all abilities. The goal of this nature-inspired, outdoor learning experience is to provide specialized instruction, support, and opportunities for academic, social, and emotional growth in a safe, accepting environment. All instruction will be provided by Shannon Wells, special education teacher, special needs mom, and founder of Our Sensory Farm.

Small group tutoring sessions are held at Our Sensory Farm in southern Chesapeake, VA, and off site field trips and social club meetups are hosted at various locations around Hampton Roads. We Play's flexible scheduling aims to meet the needs of all families with tutoring sessions available on weekdays as well as on select Saturdays and Sundays.

Our goal is to become a valuable part of your education team; therefore, we would love to collaborate with teachers, coaches, and related service providers. In order to meet the needs of all learners and their families, both independent and chaperoned tutoring sessions will be available. Please note that all scheduled field trips will require each learner to have a caregiver in attendance as they are chaperoned events.

We believe in the importance of creating a safe, accepting space for learners where patience, kindness, and caring are prioritized. We also believe in our ability to make a difference in the lives of others. We are here to answer any questions you may have and look forward to hearing from you soon!

JENNIFER

Assistant Principal

"Had so much fun visiting my new neighbors at Our Sensory Farm today! Small farmer, innovator and value creator Shannon is hard at work creating inclusive sensory, social, and play experiences for children of all abilities. She is a powerhouse of ideas, creativity and cordiality! I feel blessed to be her neighbor and watch her vision come to life. It makes my heart happy to know she is partnering with  schools without outdoor play spaces and sharing the wide open spaces of Southern Chesapeake with those kiddos. Shannon is adorable, but I absolutely fell in love with Piggy. I can’t wait till watermelon comes in season so I can take him one!"
