Mud Kitchen Tutoring Session

Service Description

Join us and make a marvelous mess during our Mud Kitchen Tutoring Session at Our Sensory Farm! Learners will work together to set up an outdoor cooking station and prep area. We will then take a nature walk so that we can forage for ingredients in the forest and around the farm. Using what we find as inspiration, learners will create 1-2 recipes before beginning to prepare their dishes. Each learner will also have the opportunity to showcase their creations during our farm to table dining experience where caregivers are invited to have a seat at our table! This tutoring session is appropriate for learners ages 5 & up. Materials and instruction will be differentiated to meet individual needs. Please note, the cooking stations consist of old pots, pans, utensils, metal bowls, cookie sheets, muffin trays, and other random kitchen items. No heat or sharp utensils will be used, and we will not actually be consuming any of the dishes (obviously, haha!). Don't forget to pack your learner(s) a snack/lunch and refillable water bottle as we will take a short break to eat, followed by rest time with books and journaling before getting back to our themed activities. Available in Winter Semester Week 1: 11/29/23 11am to 1pm 11/30/23 11am to 1pm 12/03/23 11am to 1pm Winter Weather Guide - Please dress your learner in layers when visiting Our Sensory Farm during our Winter Semester. With safety and comfort in mind during the colder months, outdoor tutoring sessions at Our Sensory Farm will be canceled under the following weather conditions: 1. Temperatures below 45 degrees and/or 2. Precipitation and/or 3. Heavy winds You will be notified before 8 am the day of the session if there is a cancellation or change in plans. If a session is canceled due to weather, a credit will automatically be issued to your account.
