It is a fun and inclusive curriculum and digital learning community created for families to enjoy whenever and wherever it works for them.While the content is shared online, the adventures are designed to inspire children to step away from the screen and into the real world through hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and family connection.

Who is Ms. Shannon?

Shannon Wells is the creator of Adventure Seekers Club and the founder of Our Sensory Farm, where she combines her love of nature, hands-on learning, and inclusive experiences for children and families. As a certified Special Educator with over 30 years of experience working with children, Shannon believes every child deserves opportunities to explore and connect with the natural world.

Ms. Shannon is passionate about sparking curiosity, celebrating differences, and turning everyday moments into opportunities for adventure. She feels that meaningful learning experiences happen when children are given a space to feel safe, included, and valued.
She created the Adventure Seekers Club to inspire children and their families to wonder a little more, explore a little farther, and discover the wonder waiting just outside their door.

What ages is Adventure Seekers Club designed for?

Adventure Seekers Club is designed primarily for children ages 5 and beyond with all abilities. Our inclusive and flexible program can be easily adapted using the Accommodation Guide, inviting children to participate in ways that match their individual interests, strengths, abilities, and developmental levels. What is the cost to join Adventure Seekers Club?

Adventure Seekers Club Membership is only $19 per month for a family membership with up to four unique users per household. You may cancel your membership at any time.

Do we have to follow the program exactly?

Not at all! There is no one “right” way to be an Adventure Seeker. Families are encouraged to choose their own adventure by selecting the activities and challenges that work best for them, adapting ideas as needed, following their child's interests, and exploring at their own pace.

What are the Adventure Pathways?

Each week, Adventure Seekers are invited to explore themed hands-on activities and challenges through five Adventure Pathways: Artist, Author, Explorer, Inventor, and Naturalist.Each pathway offers different ways to engage with the monthly theme through creativity, storytelling, investigation, problem-solving, discovery, and more. Children can follow the pathways that interest them most and choose the experiences that feel right for them.

Do we have to complete every activity and challenge in the Adventure Pathways?

No way! The pathways are designed to provide choices, not extra requirements. Your child can explore one pathway, try several, or choose only the ideas that spark their curiosity. With Adventure Seekers' flexible and inclusive approach, every child can choose their own adventure.

How much time does Adventure Seekers Club take?

As much or as little as works for your family. All the planning is done for you! Choose your own adventure and let curiosity lead the way!Some activities may take only a few minutes, while others can grow into longer projects or days of exploration. Families can decide how much time they want to spend and participate in ways that fit their schedules, interests, and preferences.

Do I need special supplies?

Nope! You definitely do not need any special supplies and you do not need a fully stocked craft room to participate. Adventure Seekers activities and challenges are designed around simple, easy-to-find materials and common household supplies. Purchasing special supplies is never necessary. Alternatives and adaptations can always be used when needed.

Do we have to purchase the recommended books?

Definitely not! Purchasing and/or reading books from our recommended reading lists is never required.Our Adventure Seekers Handbook provides families with ideas for finding books through local libraries, digital borrowing services, Little Free Libraries, book exchanges, and other free or low-cost resources.

What if we can't find one of the recommended books?

That's okay, really! Recommended books are simply suggestions to support the week's theme. You can choose another book on the same topic, explore the subject through another resource, or skip the book entirely and continue with the adventure.

Absolutely! Flexibility and inclusion are at the heart of Adventure Seekers Club and its programming.Activities can easily be adapted using our Accommodation Guide to support a wide range of interests, abilities, learning styles, developmental levels, and family needs. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to exploring, learning, or having an adventure together.

Absolutely! Adventure Seekers Club is designed for families to explore together. Our monthly family membership allows for up to 4 unique users. Additional users can also be added.Siblings of different ages can participate in different ways, choose different Adventure Pathways, or work together on the same adventure. Everyone can participate at their own level.

Does my child need to be able to read or write to participate?

No, your child does not need to be able to read or write to participate meaningfully in Adventure Seekers! Activities and challenges can be adapted for different developmental levels and abilities.Families can read aloud, use audiobooks, draw instead of write, dictate responses, use technology, or simply explore through alternate hands-on experiences. Our Accommodation Guide offers additional ideas for adapting activities to meet individual needs.

How much screen time is involved?

Adventure Seekers Club encourages families to Log on to log off! Yes, Adventure Seekers Club is a digital program, but it is not designed to keep children tethered to a screen. Our digital content provides inspiration, ideas, and guidance before encouraging children and their families to step away from the screen to question, investigate, explore, and discover in the real world.

What is the Adventure Passport?

It’s super cool! The Adventure Passport is a customizable way for children to document their adventures.Families can use it to collect experiences, discoveries, questions, creations, and accomplishments throughout their journey. Photos, drawings, documents, and other pieces from family adventures and learning experiences can be uploaded and included.At the end of each month, Adventure Passports can be printed and kept as a special keepsake and record of your child's adventures.Download the Adventure Passport and add a new Passport Page with a stamp at the end of each Adventure!

No, you don't! The Adventure Passport is completely flexible. Families can use it as often or as little as they like and customize it to fit their child's interests, abilities, and style.

That's okay! Life happens, and Adventure Seekers Club is designed to fit into your family's life, not the other way around. There's no need to catch up or keep pace with anyone else because everyone is on their own unique learning journey.Don’t worry, we will make sure you don’t miss anything if you take a little break! Previous adventures are archived in our Resource Library, so they're always there when you're ready to discover them!
